Open all year - weekends only out of season

El DivinoFinally made it into to El Divino for the first time in 2002, so thanks to Miss Moneypenny's UK PR Queen, Twiggy, for the invite!

The only club outside of San Antonio not to actively court gay clubbers, the lucrative mixed/polysexual market, El Divino accordingly comes across as a bit of a dinosaur, despite being the youngest venue in Ibiza, opening as recently as 1992.

Marking the start of its summer season on the Friday before Space opens - 30th May in 2003 - the most successful party at El Divino continues to be Birmingham club Miss Moneypenny's.

El Divino almost gained a touch of club credibility in 2001 by attracting Roger Sanchez as an exclusive resident, but as with all good things to touch the venue, Roger was lured away to Pacha by doubtless the promise of possibly (a) more money, and definitely (b) more clubbers and more atmosphere!

The only other El Divino party I can comment on is Salvacion, since it held its pre-party at Bora-Bora every Thursday throughout 2002, when it 'gate-crashed' the venue during the post Carry-On La Troya Asesina after-party! DJ Gee provided the distinctive soudtrack, and the gorgeous boys and girls of Salvacion provide the noise and dancing!

Like Pacha and Angel's El Cel, El Divino is on the swankier side of Ibiza Port, in the Marina, and presumably after the same clientele as the Casino. The best way to get there is to take the free boat ride from Ibiza Town, not just because it's free, but to empty your stomach of all the cheap booze you've been plying it with before hitting wallet-hell! Actually, it's not that bad a ride (as I've often said about myself), and can give you a few good photo opportunties of Ibiza Town if you can keep your balance.

Expect a few changes in 2003, as by all accounts the club's lease is up for renewal...
