Unlikely to be found in any of the UK brochures, the Bimbi is a cheap, simple hostal on Calle Ramon Muntaner (same street as the Sud), in Figueretes.
A good choice if you fancy a change from the standard gay accommodation, and want to stay close to Ibiza Town, but don't want to break the bank. Perfect for the independent traveller on a budget.
You'll get a small room, with two singles or a double bed, a wardrobe, and a washbasin (though as is the norm for most Spanish hostals, there are no private bathrooms). Convenient for both the gay scene in Ibiza Town, buses to the gay beach and beyond, and spitting distance from the little beach at Figueretes.
Not luxury, but very clean, and (shared bathroom aside) very private (no reception, so no one sees how dodgy your trade is, if you make it home at all). And you won't keep bumping into your shags every time you step out of your room ('Sud Syndrome', the Ibiza equivalent of Economy Class Syndrome).
And, quite frankly, the name itself is what made me stay there.
Almost forgot, I wouldn't recommend it to wheelchair users (access is by way of a staircase).
And, not that the mirrors are small, some experience of trampolining would be useful to see yourself in the small bedroom mirrors by bouncing on the bed! Those that have stayed at the Bimbi, have been heard to say 'Sod the Sud, bounce at the Bimbi'.
