Open from May to October, Katiana' s restaurant is usually my favourite place to eat after a particularly trashy night out at any of the island's opening or closing parties, as it's usually guaranteed that Katiana would have been at the party with you, and will know exactly how you're feeling...

Though not as cheap as most of the places I'd eat at on a day-to-day basis, the stunning terrace at Ca'n den Parra set beneath a canopy of vines, and with views across the walls of Dalt Vila, contributes as much to the eating experience as the excellent food on offer.

My favourite place for romantic dinners for two, as Katiana's very good at discretely finding out the name of whoever I'm with on any given day...

During the winter, Katiana will be found working with her brother Carlos, at their mum and dad's restaurant, El Portalón, set just a bit further inside the Dalt Vila walls.

A restaurant that's easily missed, being distanced from the bulk of the restaurants in Dalt Vila's main plaza, but one worth visiting again and again.
