C/ de Jaume I, Ibiza 07800, SpainIt's full name of El Patio de Los Pasajeros, should leave you in no doubt as to who's behind this excellent tapas restaurant, situated in the shadow of the Dalt Vila walls, adjacent to the charming Plaça del Parc.
Run by Isobel, the sister of Maria from Los Pasajeros, El Patio offers a wide selection of tapas-style dishes in a conventional restaurant setting.
During 2002 it proved perfect for me to eat with friends, as I could have enough dishes to fill a small army, and the others could have a small plate of patatas bravas between them. Also popular with vegetarian friends, for the variety of dishes available to them.
Also the place I was usefully taught Italian every night - the waiter may have been straight, but he could flirt for England - then German when Oliver took over from him late in the season, and by October it had taken over from Los Pasajeros as my most-frequented restaurant.
Expect to see me there frantically stuffing food down my gullet on bar tour nights, when time (time-keeping being my forte) is of the essence!
