Though most of the photos still date from its last incarnation as Camp Nonsense, since November 2002 the bar also known as El Caribe, Joey's, and Bronx, has been rebirthed (like afterbirth but with less women involved) as Bar Red.

Now being run by Bar La Muralla's long-suffering terrace waiter Alan, with new love Larry on hand to keep him in check (yeah, right), and looking a lot less pink than it used to, Bar Red will hopefully oulast all previous tenants

One of my favourite bars since 1998, when partners Joey and Dino would tolerate my pathetic attempts at flirtation on a nightly basis, and almost my second home while it was run as Camp Nonsense by Jonathan and local drag legend Simona, you can expect to find me in Bar Red on a regular basis thoughout 2003, now that my old, old, old friend Alan is behind the bar...

Possibly the first bar on the gay scene in Ibiza to take a stab at 21st Century decor, so hopefully this will have a knock-on effect with the Sitges wannabes running up and down the Calle de La Virgen.

Open all year, with a terrace during the summer, the beauty and convenience of the old town walls just outside the front door, and spitting distance from Anfora. And Alan and Larry, two of the nicest pissheads to ever hit Ibiza!
