 TEATRO C/ de La Virgen 83, Ibiza 07800, Spain Never a bar I visited much in the past, the revolving door on the staff entrance meant that, owners aside, there weren't much in the way of familiar faces to bring you back to the bar year after year. In 2002, however, some interesting staffing made Teatro more than just the first stop on the bar tours. Traditionally the earliest bar to get kicking of the gay bars in Ibiza Town, increased competition in recent years, and an increased diversity to the gay scene, have left this small British bar isolated from its hipper rivals. One of the few bars in Ibiza to provide free condoms to its customers (essential with the bar whores that have worked there?), it's also been noticed that Teatro has one of the smallest toilets on the island. If it's not too busy, ask Simona to tell you some jokes...

2002 saw some inspired staffing at Teatro, with first Jason, then Olivier and Simon making and leaving their respective marks on the place. Just when I grew to like the place, unfortunately, the time came for a change, with owner David handing the reins to Ivan from Brighton, who after a few changes of personnel in his first few months finally settled on Michael (main picture, on the left). Having run the bar by his lonesome during the winter of 2003/2004, Micheal has now been joined by the island's campest bar whore, Simona, and Ivan is putting his feet up in Brighton...
